Big Things are brewing!
Kingston Standard Brewing Co. (KSBC) is expanding operations and building a state of the art, zero fossil fuel facility that will allow us to meet a growing demand.
The new brewhouse and cellar will be located just across the parking lot from our current location, at 2 Jansen Ave - right next door to our friends at Village Grocery. Both the brewery and the grocery will occupy a larger and improved 2 Jansen Ave. Further down the road, we plan to transform our current tasting room at 22 Jansen into a full-service restaurant and bar: the Kingston Standard Public House.
Since 2019, KSBC has strived to become an integral part of Midtown Kingston and a leader in the business community. From our small, but mighty pilot-scale brewery, we’ve been producing award-winning beer using the finest local ingredients. In 2024 and 2025, KSBC has won Gold in the Barrel Aged Sour category at the New York Craft Beer Competition, and in ‘24 was selected as ‘Best in Show’, bringing the prestigious Governor’s Cup home to Kingston.
Thank you to everyone in the neighborhood and beyond for continuing to be a part of our journey and contributing to what Kingston Standard becomes.

Concrete
With all the underground work done, this first week of September has a big week on the construction front. Concrete slabs have been poured, pitched toward the drains and troweled smoothed.
Chiller
Positioning our “new to us” Glycol Chiller with a crane on the back side of the building was a major operation! This piece of equipment won’t have the visual impact or get the attention that the cellar tanks do, situated out of sight, but it is a critical component to any fermentation process. Pair it with a temperature control device and it provides the power to regulate the temperature of active fermentations which is key to making a great and consistent product.
Bring it down but build it up
In order to support the roof of our addition and open up the production floor, we removed the majority of a compromised exterior wall and are replacing it with a smaller wall on top of a major new footing. The result will be two large openings between the old and new space and a substantial improvement to the structural integrity of both the old and new portions of the building.
Footings and Foundations
After a slow start we are now humming along! Selective site demolition is now complete and we’ve moved on to pouring the footings and foundations for the building addition!
